2023 was an incredibly exciting year. To keep up the pace with our fast-growing and ever-evolving community, our newsroom grew and will continue to expand this year. Our content coverage is broadening into new areas, with new opportunities in print and digital.
Wider Reach, Greater Impact
Our commitment to serving San Antonio at its best means bringing enriching content to even more areas we've proudly served in the past. That's why we proudly launched an amplified distribution, new format, and new content experience in our Community Publications recently. Continuing the legacy of providing news and information about the distinct communities that make up our city, we have reintroduced the Northwest Light, and relaunched the Northside Herald and Southside Reporter — all under the San Antonio Life umbrella.
The huge success of San Antonio Life's online content at MySA, which originally was intended for the newcomer, proved that San Antonians still want to explore their city and are invested in keeping San Antonio community and culture alive. The new format presents a great opportunity for advertisers to not only be surrounded by feel-good, hyperlocal content, but the larger broadsheet size provides businesses with even more real estate to tell their story and showcase their products like never before.
San Antonio Magazine Acquisition and Austin Expansion
And last, but certainly not least, I am thrilled to share the news that we have added San Antonio Magazine to our portfolio of brands and are expanding into the Austin market this year. We're looking forward to building upon the 18-year history of San Antonio Magazine, under the leadership of our new editor, Jennifer McGinnis. Connecting San Antonians with the very best in lifestyle, leisure, food, events and San Antonio culture, our very first edition hits newsstands on February 8.
Soon, we will also launch a new newsletter and editorial product under the Austin Daily brand that will report on Austin’s culture and politics with a dedicated editorial team led by Express-News editors Marc Duvoisin and Randi Stevenson. The explosive population growth along the Interstate 35 corridor, as well as Austin’s rising profile as a business, political and cultural capital, present a major opportunity for us to perform outstanding journalism and provide another audience for our advertisers.
Stay tuned for exciting, new updates in our next newsletter and listen to our C&P podcast for more advertising strategies and a look behind the scenes.
